Today on The Alchemie Podcast, we chat with Alena Riggs, a marine biologist who leads communications for an organization called SeaTrees that restores coastal ecosystems.

She explains how restoring blue carbon ecosystems like mangroves, kelp forests, and coral reefs helps pull carbon out of the atmosphere and support biodiversity. SeaTrees partners with local communities on projects around the world to plant trees and restore coastal habitats while empowering indigenous people and supporting sustainable development goals.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Blue carbon ecosystems
